Purchasing Process Improvement Specialist  –  Atlanta, GA

SUMMARY

The Process Improvement Specialist will provide leadership and participate in the development of strategic direction, standard practices, procedures, documents and common transactional processes for purchasing within ARAUCO’s North American footprint to include mill sites and support centers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and support the deployment of strategies across all locations.
  • Coordinate the deployment and implementation of new processes and system enhancements.
  • Provide linkage for location Purchasing Agents and Purchasing Leadership. 
  • Provide field support for process improvements.
  • Provide support for purchasing activities to include: setting expectations; improvement targets; performance tracking; service levels; adherence to policies, procedures and ethical standards; optimization and audits.
  • Serve as the focal point and provide technical support as related to purchasing laws, rules, regulations, documentation and procedures.
  • Provide purchasing support to all locations. 
  • Train and coach mill personnel on purchasing processes, procedures and expectations.      
  • Must show demonstrated ability to innovate and implement change effectively.
  • Prove the ability to motivate and manage resources, both directly and through influence.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective communications with peers and project teams.
  • Must be committed to continuous improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management, or 5-7 years related experience
  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Systems experience with SAP is required
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology
  • Familiarity with transportation modes, such as parcel, LTL, truckload, air, and courier is preferred
  • Advanced computer (Microsoft office) skills using multiple applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement change effectively
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage resources, both directly and through influence
  • Teamwork orientation to problem-solving
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective communications with peers and project teams
  • Committed to continuous improvement

 

Plus, but not required:

  • SAP Procurement & Materials Management experience (SAP MM)
  • Systems experience with Ariba is a plus
  • CPM/CPSM certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma / Lean process improvement is preferred
  • bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required
