Staff Accountant – Atlanta, GA




The position will support the Controller and Senior Staff Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance department. The accountant is responsible for all areas related to general accounting.  Must be able to handle tight deadlines and multiple tasks.



  • Month-End Closing - journal entries, reconciliation between our sales database and financial reporting, GL clearing, and reviewing costs)
  • Complete the expense validation procedures, reporting, and analysis for the import logistics group.
  • Develop and prepare margin analysis information by business segments, and interface with sales and logistic as questions arise.
  • Perform inbound inventory reconciliation process to ensure the accuracy of invoice vs. receipts.
  • Support Audit requests.
  • Be the go-to accountant for all import distribution related questions/requests.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly close.
  • Compile and analyze financial information and prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare accurate monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure the monthly financial compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist the Senior Accountant in other financial requirements & special projects.
  • Collaborates with the finance department to support overall departmental goals and objectives.
  • Prepare weekly payments to Intercompany suppliers for goods received.



  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Need someone who is proactive - find the best solutions to solve problems.
  • Need someone who is analytical, detail-oriented.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to an ever-changing environment.
  • SAP or some type of ERP / MRP (Oracle, Hyperion, etc.) experience is required. SAP is preferred.
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
