PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assigned Production Lead for the Finishing functional areas.  Responsible for continuous improvement, training, and overall ownership of assigned functional area.  Responsible for safe execution of work by those operators in your areas of responsibility.  Responsible for ensuring a quality product is delivered to your end user. 

 

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

People

  • Responsible for ensuring Operators are trained in area. Owns the development and execution of Operator training plans for all roles assigned to area.
  • Will support lead operators in identifying and measuring operators performance vs. expectations and will be responsible for ensuring all operators have the training and competencies necessary to meet expectations.
  • Owns Safety and Housekeeping for responsible area and personnel
  • Drive consistency within area and Operators from all teams
  • Responsible for communicating activities within ownerships at daily maintenance/staff meetings
  • Owns development and use of Standard Operating Procedures

Optimization

  • Lead the continuous improvement initiatives for area, with specific focus to area key metrics
  • Leads trials for area
  • Ensure operators are actively engaged in business activities during market downtime for equipment. Always have “Opportunity Work” ready to go for these situations.
  • Monitor machine center efficiencies and uptime to ensure all equipment is utilized to maximum potential

 

Systems / Processes

  • Ensure quality specifications are up to date, used, and optimized.
  • Develop and ensure the execution of proper measurement and documentation for the area
  • Ensure all production reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring operators are using the tools/procedures established for area (including, but not limited to, execution of all operating rounds, logbooks, check sheets, etc.)
  • Responsible for inventory control for equipment, supplies, and product within ownerships
  • Responsible for Intranet file folders associated with operations

 

Equipment

  • Owns effective labeling of all equipment in area
  • Owns housekeeping for area
  • Owns Down Day Operational maintenance and cleaning requirements
  • Owns identified general operational care; servicing, cleaning, etc.
  • Responsible for development and execution of operator rounds
  • Owns tooling, wear items, inventories, budgeting, etc.
