Production/Shipping Technician

Positions available

New hires may be utilized in the following areas of the mill.  Placement is based on the needs of the business, as well as the best fit with the employees’ skills and interests. 

  • Milling and Drying – where we work with our raw materials
  • Forming and Pressing – where we make the board
  • Finishing – where we size and finish the board
  • Lamination – where we apply decorative lamination to the board
  • Shipping – where we warehouse and load the board

 

 
General Responsibilities for all employees

  • Employees are expected to put safety first.  This means watching out for your safety and those around you.  Wearing appropriate PPE and following all safety procedures and policies. 
  • Ensure Arauco exercises responsibility for environmental stewardship in all areas of our business.  
  • Work to become a capable team member.  Capable is defined as the ability to handle routine daily operational tasks. 
  • Properly complete product changes and productively operate the equipment.
  • Complete paperwork and electronic entries, as necessary. 
  • Actively participate in any problem-solving meetings and contribute to improving processes.  
  • Communicate with team members about production line activities, any upset conditions experienced, and follow up on the resolution.
  • Respond to upset conditions and work closely with all team members to address problems. 
  • Expected to work toward a competent operating level whereby the operator has a more intimate understanding of the equipment to troubleshoot and problem-solve more complex issues. 

 

Requirements

  • Prior experience using HMI technology is beneficial and a preferred skill.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • A high school diploma or GED is required 
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Strong computer skills are desired.  Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel are an asset.  
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Post offer you must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and physical capability assessment.

Schedule
•    Production schedule runs in 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights).
•    Workdays vary each week, with a monthly schedule of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off (rotate between days and nights every two weeks).
