Stores Coordinator

Location:  Grayling, MI

Stores Coordinator--Grayling, MI 

Description of Essential Duties:

  • Prepares and communicates Stores inventory reports.
  • Develops metrics to measure Stores performance.
  • Set safety standards for stack height and area rolling stock.
  • Provides oversight and leadership for Technicians and the equipment they operate for Stores and housekeeping of all areas.
  • Oversees Storeroom clerks
  • Responsible for staff development within ownerships
    • Keep all workers compliant and updated on Safety area training, JHA’s, annual orientations, lockout certification.
    • Responsible for development and execution of training plans for areas of responsibility and sign off on competencies by role.
    • Maximize efficiencies of workforce. Focus on opportunity work and balancing work schedules to match work load demands.
  • Work on optimization projects to maintain the professional and clean appearance of the mill.  Need to know industry technology and what our opportunities may be.
  • Re-stocks consumables as per protocols.
  • Receives parts and inventories as required.
  • Ensures proper labeling and storage of parts and consumables.  Labels shelving appropriately.
  • Uses Structure program as per direction and protocols.
  • Attend daily functional areas meetings as required.
  • Manage area budget accounts.  Continually work on optimizing costs for area.
  • Participates in weekend on-call responsibilities.
  • Communicates with and supports the initiatives of upstream and downstream customers in the manufacturing process with a view to continually improving their products and services.
  • Monitors and implements detailed rounds and opportunity work
  • Delivers Technician and contractor orientations, if required.
  • Works closely with Finance on monthly and year end cycle counts.
  • Oversee Stores to insure cleanliness and orderliness of product.
  • Maintain plant inventory levels as directed


Require Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of a 4 year College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years leadership experience overseeing a number of staff
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in stores processes, preferably in engineered wood products.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent team development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Action oriented with high energy, drive and enthusiasm.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to meet deadlines.
  • A demonstrated leader of people
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Certified to operate a forklift
  • Certified to handle propane
