MDF Technician – Malvern, AR

 

SUMMARY

Safely respond to all production and quality issues while maintaining quality to ensure customer satisfaction.  Along with the Operators, owns the production area.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for properly completing paperwork and computer entries.
  • Responsible for properly completing product changes and productively operating the area.
  • Communicate with supervisors, operators, and lift drivers about product changes and area activities.
  • Responsible for remaining alert at all times and constantly monitoring their equipment and process.
  • Communicate with the quality lab technician and supervisor anytime a quality issue is suspected.
  • Respond to upset conditions in the area and work closely with operators and maintenance to resolve problems.
  • Support shift millwright and electrician if help is needed during downtime or any other upset condition.
  • Enter and complete work orders as needed.
  • Follow the guidelines in the daily worksheets.
  • Check and monitor lengths and widths of product every hour during shift.
  • Follow all size changes to stacker.
  • Clean area daily.
  • Actively participate in any problem-solving meeting and will positively contribute to improving the process on a daily basis.
  • Check email daily. You are required to wear a radio and respond to issues as needed.
  • Use pass down reporting to notify operations and peers about changes made while you are on shift.
  • Responsible for remaining alert at all times and constantly monitoring their equipment and process.
  • Identify quality and production issues and react accordingly to them. 
  • Assist in the development of SOP’s and JHA’s.
  • Assist other areas as needed during upset conditions.
  • Ownership of your area includes communicating issues and following up on the resolution. 
  • Work as directed by management.
  • Follow all General and Plant Safety Rules.
  • Know proper LOTO/Confined Space procedures for the area and follow them.
  • Know proper PPE requirements for all tasks in your area, and wear them when required.
  • Ability to perform Operator Check sheet rounds.
  • Ability to explain and understand all fire control systems within the area of responsibility.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.
