Utility R&E Operator – Moncure, NC

PAY LEVEL: $16.6532

 

SUMMARY

Support the MDF plant; assist the refiner & energy plant operator in the daily operation of the refiner and energy plant during operations to ensure that all production and operational goals are achieved in a safe manner and we are in compliance with all company policies and local, state and federal regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and cross train multiple roles to allow for coverage on shift when not in training.
  • Assist refiner & energy operator to maintain optimum production.
  • Ensure pumps, tanks, filters and valves in the resin system are in proper operating condition.
  • Ensure all components of the refiner and energy plant are in proper condition, paying attention to any unusual noises or abnormal vibration.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • In the absence of the refiner & energy operator, you are to assume these duties.
  • Monitor all necessary gauges and report data to operator.
  • Willingness to work weekends and nights a must.
  • Wear proper PPE at all times, as required.
  • LOTO procedures.
  • Able to read measuring equipment with accuracy and repeatability.
  • Work with all departments to help resolve quality related issues.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve higher engagement and empowerment, cross-training, and personal growth.
  • Uphold core team values, responsibilities and behaviors.
  • Attend and actively participate in team business meetings and Team Management System meetings.
  • Assist team in making good business decisions.
  • Able to lift 50lbs, work in hot/cold environment, walking, standing, bending for 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to work extended hours and rotating shift as required.
  • Ability to work at heights, in hot, noisy & dirty environments as required.
  • High School diploma or GED, additional education a plus.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in an automated manufacturing environment, preferably in continuous manufacturing of composite panels.
  • Good knowledge of the manufacturing process of composite panels preferred.
  • Must be able to work without constant supervision.
  • Excellent computer and software skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
