Moulding Shipping Technician I

Shipping Technician 

PAY RATE: $18.30

Coordinates activities concerned with shipping, receiving, storing, inventorying, and shipping materials in warehouse by performing the following duties:



  • Verifies quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of products and items of merchandise ready for shipment.
  • Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
  • Compares items packed with customer's order and other identifying data.
  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials within work site.
  • Loads materials onto vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Load & Unload flatbed/van trailers and railcars safely, accurately and timely.
  • Load and unload board or other materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
  • Operate forklift in loading trucks or moving materials and products.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily tracking sheet.
  • Ability to efficiently complete all paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Maintain a clean work area, machines, and equipment on a daily basis.
  • Follow all area specific safety rules.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime with little notice, when needed.
  • Ability to work in area with elevated noise levels, auto emissions, dust and sawdust.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

  • Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision & Hearing; Hand, foot and eye coordination; Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold conditions.
  • Required to wear hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE as required.
  • Must be able to use calculator and tape measure and understand basic Math and basic Units of Measurement.
  • Must have previous experience driving mobile equipment, specifically a forklift.
  • Must have previous experience working in a warehouse.
  • High School diploma or GED a must. Post-secondary education, a plus.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret documents and forms and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Reading and comprehension of numbers, letters, decimals and fractions - Ability to do multiple tasks.
  • Ability to calculate unit/truck weights based on volume of board.
  • Ability to check forklift functions and identify minor problems.
  • Ability to use computer and basic shipping menu to call up and print out orders.
  • Must be able to wear PPE all day, every shift (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hardhat, earplugs).
  • Hands on! Will have to lead by example.
