Utility Operator (Millworks) – Moncure, NC

 

SUMMARY

The Utility Operator is responsible for learning basic skills jobs in the millwork operation and offers relief and fill in services as needed.  The Utility Operator also works on special projects, quality rework, housekeeping and cleanup, labeling, and special packaging requirements, among other things.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fill in for various jobs within the millwork operation as needed.
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Work on special projects for process improvement, housekeeping, packaging and labeling.
  • Assist in any work or projects as needed
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve higher engagement and empowerment, cross-training, and personal growth.
  • Uphold core team values, responsibilities and behaviors.
  • Attend and actively participate in team business meetings and Team Management System meetings.
  • Assist team in making good business decisions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Walking while carrying packaged product.
  • Ability to Lift up to 75 lb.
  • Pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, bending, twisting throughout the day.
  • Required to wear hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE as required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read tape measure, calipers and other measuring devices preferred.
  • Ability to do basic mathematical calculations and conversions.
  • Experience in manufacturing facility preferred.
