Position Summary:
The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Manager and have overall responsibility for the maintenance of the mobile equipment fleet at the site.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • General service, major repair and replacement of gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, drive trains and associated components including electrical, fuel (including propane), braking, steering, suspension (including tires), cooling, exhaust, hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems
  • Effective utilization of hard copy and electronic service and parts manuals
  • Effective utilization of computer software for the purchase of equipment and parts (SAP purchase order system)
  • Effective communication with many equipment and parts suppliers
  • Effective machining and fabrication of structural steel components while demonstrating acceptable welding, gouging, cutting and grinding practices

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic,
  • Minimum 2-years relative work experience servicing mobile equipment
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System experience – SAP preferred
  • Strong communicator effectively working with plant staff and equipment suppliers to maintain a healthy mobile equipment fleet
  • Skilled in root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting techniques of equipment related problems
  • Required to provide after hour call-in coverage if required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
